The poverty line is what seems like an unreachable goal for most cambodian citizens due to what they are constantly exposed to and their way of living. There were around one million out of the 14 living in the country that met the poverty line in 93 and 94. As the millennium development goals started being implemented and started taking effect the way of living for people changed. More and more cambodians were drawn to the idea of yes we can meet this line now due to the expositor to these goals. Gradually after the 90's the population grew towards succeeding in this goal. Since this is should be the most important goal the amount of $70,000,00 dollars should be put forth to it. This money should be used to add a couple thousand job opportunities in communities along with providing more food for shelters, and farmers for the distribution of food to the poor. The reason behind the success of this goal so far has been the changes in the food prices and non food prices, this should continue and get even better in the coming years with the money that is being put forth.

Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
Achieve Universal Primary Education
Primary education for individuals around the world is one of society's biggest issues that lead to even bigger life long options for others. An amazing amount of progress has been achieved but this goal, ever since 2000 the amount of kids living in remote areas of the country completed primary education. The amount of students that have completed it is very close to reaching the amount of those on the urban areas of the country that have reached it. Every child should have access to some sort of education and this goal allows for the majority to be open to education which may even lead to helping the country itself back with the education that students achieve. Therefor the amount of $10,000,000 will be used to go forth education and help those that don't have access to it by building schools, and since the amount of jobs is increasing so shall the education ratings. Currently the same thing is being done in slow progression though out the country but this amount of money should help it out.
Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
Gender equality is an under seen issue around the world. Women empowerment lacks more and more varying on the development of countries. Cambodia in a underdeveloped country that can use this goal as a push in the right direction for women leaders. This goal is on the right track and there doesn't seem to be a lot of money going into it because it isn't needed. The development of things like poverty and the country itself helps in chaining the way that women are said. In order to reach this goal the primary flow rates need to improve and given the amount of money that is being used towards property and such this is one goal that is seen to Improve more and more along side of it. The amount of $4,000,000 dollars is being put forth to this goal in order for it to just starts women empowerment groups within the different villages of Cambodia.
Reduce Child Mortality
The child mortality rate will decrease more and more now that there is so much money being put towards poverty which includes some health benefits for individuals. The goal now is to open more and more access to health care for children and young adults under the age of 18 in order to better improve the mortality rate without leaving the parents in agony. There should be a total of $5,000,000 dollars going towards this goal.
Improve Maternal Health
More lives saved happier and healthier people living. Increasing maternal health comes from working with creating more of an equality world for women, which gets led on from a greater access to resources. There's money going tabards the women empowerment goal therefor a lot should not be going towards this, due to the fact that each goal will follow to improve in the country from other goals getting reached. With this also in mind there is not a lot being done for this goal currently and i believe that there should be around $5,000, 000 dollars put in towards building more small affordable health systems around the small villages. This is in order to ensure that women have safe births and are treated right no matter their family incomes.
Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Other Diseases
There are many health issues that people in the everyday world face. Many of them being those like sexualy transmitted diseases that lead to deaths and such. $3,000,000 should be put forth in helping reach this goal because people need to be educated. And having all of or most of the other goals also being reached makes this one not need a lot of resources because it's just the simple key to education that can change all of Cambodia's statistics.
Ensure Environmental Sustainability
Nothing is more important then a sustainable environment. For this goal i believe that in order for us to meet we need to change what is being done currently which is nothing much. There should be an addition in trying to connect with outside sources to create an suitable environment for individuals. More so even a green environment. The well being of individuals is really one of the most important things to everyone so $9,000,000 dollars should be put in the research and development of a new sustainable environment that will also allow for everyone to have simple things like access to clean water.
Develop a Global Partnership for Development
Having some sort of global partnership allows us to have some sort of an income constantly coming into this country making it more and more of a development country. There should be a total of $10,000,000 dollars being put towards building and maintaing relationships with other countries that can help build cambodia's economic status. Currently there isn't a lot being put forth into this goal because the full potential of what it could do to cambodia is not seen, if it were then this goal would be taken much more seriously.
Personal Statement
Cambodia has been successful in getting close to meeting all of their MDG's for the 2005 deadline. In order to fully meet these goals by the year 2015, as a country the way that money is used needs to be one of the big changes. Though out the country there is a lot of obvious poverty that surrounds non educated individuals. Although they have almost met their goals there are still many different changes and implements that need to occur to the country in order for it to be overall successful. The indication of the status of each goal currently varies on the goal itself. In the following webpage you will find information on current goals statues/doings followed by what should be done with the $143,051,830 that is available to go towards the success of these goals in Cambodia. Although cambodia has 9 initial goals for development I focused on the first 8, their 9th goal is very similar to the 8th general millennium development goal. Having the millennium development goals implemented in the nation of Cambodia has helped them develop more and more each year due to the dedication that they have as a country towards making a difference in the way that they live. They have faced many issues while trying to achieve these goals, but overcoming these issues and looking past them helped the way that they succeed in terms of progression. Some challenges have been getting the majority of the population to meet the poverty line. They managed to succeed in this goal because they never let it be the reason they failed reaching the goal. Cambodia has come very far from where they started with these goals and now the majority of people have access to clean water and a sustainable life style in general. More people are being educated everyday leaving all the goals to follow each other success. I believe that focusing on the poverty goal only can also help them lead to reach the goals because once people have a way of living and money to do things then the other goals like education and women empowerment will follow with success. That is the reason behind choosing to put so much money forth this goal. There is a certain amount of money that is left from the $143 million for these goals, and i believe that this money should go towards adding more unique goals towards cambodia. Such as make the way towards people having health insurance and more educational needs for individual families. If the country of Cambodia keeps moving forwards at the same rate as it is now then it will end up being very successful in all of the millennium development goals. It will most likely allow the country's rating to change and become a developed country rather then staying underdevelopment.
